Skillet Chopped Steak

Great dinner recipe!


1 ½ pounds ground beef (we use ground turkey)

½ cup bread crumbs

1 medium onion, chopped

1 egg

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

10 ¾ oz can cream of mushroom soup

¾ cup milk

8 oz sliced fresh mushrooms

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, salt and pepper. Mix well and shape into 6 patties about ½ inch thick.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and place the patties in the skillet. Cook for two to three minutes per side or until browned.

In a small bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Stir in mushroom slices. Pour over the patties. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 8 – 10 minutes or until no pink remains in the patties. Serve topped with mushroom sauce.

Note: Pairs well with mashed potatoes.
