Calzones

This is Jessica's recipe and is adaptable to whatever kind of toppings you like and/or have available. We usually use pepperoni but somehow it didn't make it on the grocery list, so we improvised.

Refrigerated pizza dough

Provolone cheese, sliced

Pepperoni, bacon, ham, sausage, onion, pepper, etc. (whatever toppings you have that you would eat on a pizza)

Butter, melted

Parmesan cheese

Italian seasoning

Garlic Powder

1 Jar pizza sauce

If you have pizza dough that is not rolled out, roll the dough out and cut into 4 – 6 rectangular pieces that will be folded in half. (This time we got the pre-rolled dough and cut it into 4 pieces.) Break a Provolone slice in half and lay it on half of one of your dough pieces. Layer on topping ingredients. Fold dough over and seal edges well so nothing leaks out during cooking. Place calzone in calzone/sandwich maker or cook in oven on 450° for 12 – 15 minutes. Flip them half way through. When finished baking, brush with melted butter. Mix a little Italian seasoning in with Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle on top. Warm the pizza sauce for dipping. You can also use the leftover butter and add a little garlic powder to use for dipping.
